Clinical Supervision, CE Trainings and Case Conferences
Like the wounded family members we treat, clinicians get isolated, too.
Connect with peer professionals embracing a set of approachable and sensible concepts while practicing proven techniques to support family system shifts toward health and wellness.
Through individual consultation, group case conference, and clinician workshops The Institute provides tools for clinicians to demonstrate to their client families the difference between “unconscious enabling” (the most destructive form) and clear-minded decision-making. By gently examining how and why families make decisions, members can more reliably navigate toward thoughtful, balanced responses that make sense financially, systemically, emotionally and spiritually.
Exaggerated, Hostile and Chronic Dependency are explained. A sustainable clinical posture, or psychological position, from which to consider and respond to the requests and actions of clients is promoted. When occupying such a position, clinicians bring family members to their truth without guilt and second guessing. Embracing these concepts, clinicians and clients move from educating to relating, from control-based reacting to confident and centered interpersonal connection and healing.
Clinicians and professionals employ the Institute’s model of Stress-Induced Impaired Coping and its proven recovery method. [Click here] to learn more about the model. Another key element guides clinicians to examine the family story, show members how to put in words the setup they’re in with each other, and identify ways to make “small shifts” in individual, experiential and family therapy.
Specific, non-violent language to soften conflict and pursue serenity in the system is modeled and practiced. Sample scripts demonstrate the “classic” interactions alongside illustrations of SIIC model-informed response. Strategies to guide perception about others’ behavior and woundedness are introduced to promote empathy and the optimize one’s ability to relate. The mantra: “My serenity will no longer be conditional on the actions or mental health of anyone else, including my spouse or children,” takes on power and weight.
